We all know that everyone learns in different ways: visual, auditory, tactile, etc. We also are aware that nowadays, children need to know how to use technology to enhance their learning and be successful in the 21st century learning environment.
Being second language learners, the students in my class would benefit with the use of chrome books to access math and reading sites that provide review and practice in meaningful and interesting ways.
I plan to use these chrome books in centers during math and reading periods. I will assign work to the students at their on level. Students will be able to work independently with minimal help with the teacher. During math, it will be used to review concepts or give more practice for students who are not yet at benchmark. For those who are at benchmark, it will be used to give them more challenging task.
Research shows that the more you read, the more you improve in your reading. The chrome books will be used to access different kinds of books at different levels. Each student will be reading at their own level during center time.
Since most of my students don't have access to technology at home, they are always excited to use technology to do schoolwork. This a motivation for them to do classwork. The students are having fun and learning at the same time.
