The materials requested will allow my students to engage in activities that will teach them to interact in various scenarios and build social relationships while learning self-regulations to create a positive classroom environment. My students need props to help them to develop and learn through a playful learning experience. The instructional interactions will help my students to become intentional and reflective learners in a classroom environment that integrates reading, writing and math through dramatic play.
In order to ensure every student becomes a successful learning the materials are necessary so they are getting a full playful learning experience. Through 5 themed units: Family, Grocery, Restaurant, Vet, and Hospital students will use the requested materials to get real life experiences and understand roles and scenarios. The cash register can be used for students to pretend play and further explore different roles and jobs in a grocery store. The vet and hospital kits will allow students to be a vet or doctor and explore helping sick animals and people. The food, ice cream, pizza and coffee sets will give students the opportunity to have social interactions in different restaurant atmospheres. In order for students to understand roles, such as cashier and customer, they will need props that will help them get real life experiences and engage in a playful learning experience that will allow students to understand how math, reading and writing are useful in every day tasks.
