When students can make a choice, they feel empowered. By building our classroom library, students will have access to high-interest texts and have more choices about what they would like to read. Having more choices of books at their level will enable students to grow as readers! When students are given a choice about what to read and provided with books that are of interest to them, there is no stopping them. My students are often found hiding books in their desks because they love to read, but often my students don't have enough books that are at their level to choose from. Help them develop as readers by helping us expand our classroom library.
