We need Ceramic Glazes! Students love to see their artwork come out of the kiln. Their faces light up when they see the bright, shiny finish of a glaze fired piece. Students go from a frown to a massive smile on their face when they see their finished work. We need help buying glazes which are highly consumable especially gallon bottles of white, black & blue; school colors. I teach 6 year-long Ceramics/Pottery classes are made up of nearly 200 9th through 12th graders from a culturally and economically diverse community. Out of our 1,700+ students almost 40 are homeless and almost 65% are considered economically disadvantaged and qualify for free or reduced lunch. Most cannot afford to pay our lab fee donation of $15 per year. As a new teacher who attended this HS as a freshman, my goal is to bring this program up to a level that these awesome kids deserve.
