The 1st graders at our school need the Osmo Genius Kit to use iPads collaboratively and creatively with their classmates. The wonderful 1st graders that I teach work very hard every day to learn and grow in the literacy and math skills. The Osmo Genius system turns the iPad into an interactive, creative, problem solving experience where my students can learn, explore and collaborate while gaining immediate feedback. While in small group stations, my students will use physical objects in the area in front of the iPad to solve math problems, manipulate puzzles, spells words, and even draw their own artwork! The most important part of this learning experience is they will do this together learning a social skill of teamwork! For some children in our Title 1 school, the school day provides the only exposure to technology that they so desperately need in our ever changing and growing world. The Osmo Genius systems allows each of my 1st graders the opportunity to explore reading, writing, word building, and math problem solving in a fun and rewarding way. Every minute we have in our school day is valuable time that we can make the most of our educational experience with the time that we have. My goal is to expose my students to all the technology tools I can to help them succeed in their education, both creatively & interactively!
