My students need the opportunity to work with the media of clay, and learn how to create forms using clay to create a 3-D sculpture. Teaching students the difference between forms and shapes is much easier understood through the visual and hands on experience of working with a material like clay. My students will get to create a meaningful sculpture that they can take pride in.
Previously working in other schools, I have found clay to be an extremely valuable experience for the students, and gives them the opportunity to try something new and work with their hands! This material allows for problem solving, creativity and imagination to come into play!
