I have an awesome, curious and energetic kindergarten class. My school is located in a socioeconomic impoverished inner-city area of Atlanta, GA. Most of my students come from single family households in which there is a struggle just to provide for the necessities of life. Free breakfast and lunch are their main source of nutrition. Many do not receive the help and encouragement from home to be successful when they come to school. However, you can see the
excitement when new and innovative activities are presented in class. They are excited and eager to learn. As their teacher, I recognize so much potential in them and I don't want their present circumstances to determine their future outcome.
