My students are Career Tech students who have chosen to complete the Horticulture Pathway at our career academy. In our program, students are prepared for a meaningful academic pathway today and professional career in horticulture tomorrow. Our school is uniquely nestled in a 55-acre park where students have the opportunity to explore nature and to also immerse themselves in the agriculture industry by managing a production level greenhouse. Our students are constantly on the go and need access to technology that can travel with them. By choosing to fund this project you can provide students the ability to develop 21st-century skills that will prepare them for successful futures through these Andriod Tablets.
The opportunities that students will have to learn in a meaningful and engaging way will be limitless with access to new technology. From entering data while in the greenhouse to using apps to determine a species of a tree outside my students will have access to boundless information. Each year students complete an agriscience fair project that requires research but access to research material is limited and is always a challenge. Our school does not have a library and we have limited technology and print resources. Having the ability to research will allow my students the opportunity to learn more content knowledge and technology skills that they will need to be successful in their future careers. Students not only love technology but this type of technology is essential for these students to prepare for the future.
