Technology has swiftly become a major component for children in education today. As an adult in today's society, it is almost a requirement to be technologically savvy in the workforce. New innovative technology is coming out daily, and it is essential that we teach our students at an early age how to responsibly access and use it so that they can fully take advantage of the limitless opportunities that technology can provide.
The only problem is that our school does not have enough Chromebooks so that student's across ALL of the grade levels can easily access these amazing learning opportunities. When we want to use Chromebooks, we often have to borrow them from another classroom. If the other classrooms are using them, we may have to search multiple classrooms to find enough for students and even then we may not have enough. This makes it difficult when trying to complete projects or use tools such as Google Classroom on a consistent basis.
With all of this being said, there are various advantages to having technology easily accessible in the classroom. If my students had daily access to Chromebooks regularly, we would use them for a wide variety of activities. We would use them for research projects, writing essays and papers, drilling math facts, reading articles and short stories, and so much more. Not only would having daily access to technology help prepare my student's for a bright and successful future, it would also create a innovative and fun learning environment where we can cater to all types of various learning styles!
