Each day math begins with a mini-lesson. During this time, math read alouds are a staple in our classroom! These Math Talks provide the perfect ‘hook’ for math mini-lessons, help to build a foundation for new skills, and introduce math vocabulary. For this project I am asking for mentor texts that cover a wide array of skills. These math skills are crucial as they will build the foundation for my students to become life long learners in mathematics. These text will not only be beneficial in math, but in reading as well because they will allow me to seamlessly integrate literacy into our math time!
