I am a 7th grade science teacher at Gruening Middle School in Eagle River, Alaska. We live in a diverse community with almost 50% of our student population coming from military families from our local joint base Elmendorf-Richardson, or J-BER, in Anchorage. My students are super science sleuths! We explore a wide range of topics such as science safety, scientific method, life science/biology, physics, energy, magnetism and computer science. They are eager learners and are up for any challenge! My goal as their teacher is to instill a life-long love of learning and science.

About my class
