My students will benefit from the use of this 3D printer by helping them connect the lessons we cover in class with an actual physical real world example. They will have something they can take with them, physically touch, feel, and show to others in order to demonstrate the process of bringing an idea to life.
Giving students the opportunity to design and print their own ideas will encourage them to think about things creatively, and enhance their problem solving skills. The students will have a greater understanding of how the process works from beginning to end, and they will be able to see that the opportunities with their own creativity are limitless.
Having a 3D printer in the classroom would facilitate learning for all students with various learning styles-especially kinesthetic, visual, and logical learners. A 3D printer would also facilitate cross-curricular learning with other subjects like math, history, and science.
