My kindergarten scholars are currently squished onto a too small carpet for their wiggly little selves. At times this causes learning disruptions due to the fact that that they feel like their personal space is being invaded.
A large portion of kindergarten learning happens while we are interacting on the carpet. Every day we have morning meetings and community circles. All of this happens on the all-important carpet. Having this larger space will enable my scholars to better focus and engage in their learning. This carpet will become the major hub of our classroom and foster a greater classroom community.
