Yoga mats will help empower my students in my school with mindfulness, movement, and social emotional learning in our physical education curriculum. Yoga develops essential life skills while cultivating physical health and fitness. My students will learn mat techniques and develop long and short term goals to provide them with physical, mental, and emotional health. My students will be able to use the yoga activities to develop essential life skills while cultivating physical health and fitness. Students outcomes will be the following in providing the yoga mats for the curriculum: Students will demonstrate both static and dynamic postures, demonstrate ability to move through a yoga sequence of back-bending, forward-folding, twisting, and inverted posture. Students will be able to demonstrate ability to balance on different body parts while maintaining focus.
