Our school receives a grant that was funding fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks. However the funding for that grant ran out and when it was renewed it was cut to only twice a week.
As growing first graders, my students get hungry between breakfast and their lunch hour. They also get hungry in the late afternoon. I would love to have snacks on hand that can curb their hunger so they can focus on learning instead of their rumbling stomachs.
By funding this project, you will be making a huge difference for students who need their basic needs met in order to access their greatest potential for learning.
