Because BMS is a newly formed school in this 2019-2020 school year and the school is gearing up to be a STEM school, I wanted to provide an after school club that would stimulate the students' minds, but yet be fun and creative as well. I chose robotics because it is exactly that, stimulating, fun, and creative! Computer science and robotics are also the new digital skills students MUST be able to understand. Students will be assembling VEX robots and learning to manipulate the robot to complete tasks. Not only will they use the controller to manipulate the robot, but they will need to learn to program the robot to move independently without the use of the controller.
We need the laptops to allow the students to program the robots. The students are really excited about the club!
