My students are an inquisitive group of 8th graders. I teach science and they're constantly asking questions. They are competitive because I display test data after each assessment and they're constantly trying to out score each other. That tactic makes them try harder! Right now, they are setting the stage to become high school students and I'm trying to prepare them for that experience. They are still somewhat reserved about getting in front of the class for presentations and making their own decisions. I am constantly trying to create an environment that makes them feel relaxed and confident with their peers. My students work in groups and for the most part they get along very well with each other. Grouping has made them be more open to meeting new friends and accepting of many differences; especially learning styles. If funded, my students will be SO excited about the new flex seating/furniture. Thanks
