My students are comprised of nearly 90% on free and reduced lunches. Most of them come from economically challenged families and lack the necessary school supplies. The majority of my students are Native Americans, Hmong, and Spanish. They attend school in a rural district where we have the longest bus routes in the state. Some of my students are on the buses for more than three hours per day. Unfortunately, the odds are stacked against many of them. However, I believe that all it takes is for one person to believe in them in order for them to succeed and be more successful in life.
