My students are incredibly respectful, funny, and smart! I have taught all around the country and the world and never encountered students like this. They deserve and appreciate all that comes their way, even thanking me each day as they leave the classroom. Our entire school is on free lunch and not very many students have computers or cell phones. Almost none have a car or even know how to drive. School is everything to them, and music, in particular, becomes their identity and safety net in this enormous school of 4000 students in the middle of one of the largest cities in the country. This piano would provide a visual and audio reminder that they are worth it!
