The addition of technology would give my students a much-needed boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and the workplace. Kindergarten students especially learn better by having examples. We have a model on the projector so that the students can visually see how to do the work that is being asked of them. This is important for our big ESOL population as they need more visuals to better understand the English language.
Through the new LCD projector, new learning experiences can occur, such as using Google Earth for geography or looking at maps. Schools can also stream videos with ease — something you cannot obviously do with either a whiteboard or an overhead projector. The new LCD projector offers ways of reaching students in different ways. They allow the teacher to interact with students better, to use a multimodal form of teaching and to provide more entertaining ways to teach and get their lesson objectives and facts across.
