Our kids are spending more and more time in a seated position with the increase of technology and screen time. Offering stand up desks to our kids is an easy way for us to help them get on their feet and activate their brains as well as teaching them healthy lifestyle habits.
There has been an abundance of research proving that movement is key to cognitive function, and greatly increases the ability to learn. Not only does it increase cognitive function and brain health, but physical health as well.
Winter in Maine can be especially tough when children are not able to get outside due to dropping temperatures, or able to utilize the entire play space due to icing and safety concerns. The stand-up desk allows the students to not only stand up, but also place their foot on the bar that swings, which allows continual non-disruptive movement. Helping our students get healthier and more focused and on a path to creating healthy lifelong habits!
