My students are required to complete an online literacy program weekly to improve their phonics and comprehension skills. It is very difficult for my students to reach their individual goals due to the number of headphones we have at this time.
"The more you read the more that you know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss.
I teach small group instruction daily using books that are targeted to each groups reading level. My students are excited when it's their groups turn to read at my small group table. They are amazed that they are beginning to read on their own and to read for meaning. My students love reading a new story every week. It is a challenge to find appropriate and engaging text that is also on their reading level for groups of 5 students. We are often limited to what stories we read each week. The little readers would bring exciting and colorful text to our small group instruction.
