Our student band is small and because of the lack of funding for our newly founded music class it is difficult to get the required equipment to play our donated instruments to their fullest. We need electric guitar strings and electric bass strings because ours are well used and if they break we may not be able to get new ones without asking our students to help fund them or myself having to pay out of pocket for them. We need instrument cables so that we can use the donated amps that are unfortunately not being used because when we received them they did not come with the adapters.
Our students are a small yet diverse group of quietly creative individuals whose innate talents are just beginning to come into fruition. Through this class we encourage our students to express themselves creatively, boosting their confidence and enabling them to want to persevere through their other classes because they know that they will have a positive outlet both during and after school when they come together and make music.
