Our students learn music by singing but also by playing a wide variety of classroom instruments. These Orff instruments will help to rebuild our instrument inventory so that the students can learn about percussion instruments in an engaging and fun way.
Music is whole-brain learning; that is why playing musical instruments in elementary school gives students an academic advantage. Early music education has been linked to increased academic performance, lowered stress levels, and a reduction in behavioral issues in the classroom. I have a number of students with exceptionalities who come to music every week, and having instruments like these will allow me to better adapt and modify our lessons so that all students feel welcome and included in music class.
