In my classroom, we start every day at our meeting place. I conduct our calendar time here, along with singing, dancing, birthday songs, and a multitude of activities throughout the Kindergarten year. Also, we use two trapezoid tables put together to create our space for reading and math centers as well as a variety of other activities.
At this point, I have duct tape outlining squares on the carpet for my students to have their own space during our "meeting time" and two trapezoid tables are connected to complete centers. I currently have had to replace the duct tape twice because it starting to pull up from the carpet and the current table is not conducive for teacher proximity.
My students would benefit from this new carpet because of the colorful, engaging design and from the new table because of the increased proximity of the teacher as they progress and become successful learners throughout their Kindergarten year.
