With defined spaces children begin to understand boundaries. In Pre-K we learn so much about ourselves and others that we often need to learn the value of having our own space. Using a rug with squares will provide my students with a space of their own as we read, dance, and play. At the same time it doesn't limit us to not being beside our friends and reading a book together.
By donating to our project you are providing us with a special learning environment where we can have our space, but explore with our neighbor that's beside us. Students will be able to focus on what their job is so that learning freely takes place without the confusion of where do I sit and where does my friend sit.
