I am returning to Pre-K after having taught First Grade for many years. I come with enthusiasm to inspire, motivate, create and provide a hands-on learning experience for my students. Sadly, I must say, the Pre-K classroom has been neglected. Our kitchen set is old, doors and knobs are missing, and it has a cracked sink! It has been, by far, the most popular center in the class. While it provided a stage for wonderful story telling and reenactments, it needs to be replaced. Role-playing is huge in Pre-K. Kids love to use their imagination. With a new play and pretend kitchen, my students will be able to engage in social-emotional roles of life, learn to take turns, share responsibility, learn organizational skills, solve a variety of problems, develop language and conversation skills, and reenact stories. With your help, I can provide my students with an inviting learning environment that promotes language and learning experiences for years to come.
