One of the most difficult things to do is to sit in a hard chair all day. As a teacher, I get fidgety sitting in a chair just as much as my students do. That is why I have decided to incorporate flexible seating in our classroom.
Currently our class uses flexible seating during small group instruction. Students are able to sit on bean bag chairs, puzzle chairs, sit on desks, or lay in the floor. By adding these additional flexible seating options, every student will be given a choice while working in the classroom.
It is my goal to fully engage students in the classroom. These seating options promote engagement, promote independency, and facilitate choice making.
