Moving towards a 21st Century model where students are learning collaboratively and independently the standard classroom is not enough. The school district has done a great job giving me the technology resources and autonomy to create personalized learning and an inviting environment. Students work at their own pace with time to collaborate with their peers and one-on-one tutoring with their teacher (me!).
I am asking you to help me create a flexible seating environment. I currently have lowered tables and built crate chairs for my students. We have tables grouped together for project-based learning and study desks for students to work independently. I am asking for your help to create more options for my students. The yoga balls will be used for a different seating option at the tables we have in the classroom. The high top table will be positioned beside a high window as another place for collaborative learning. My students have been an integral part in helping me organize and implement this. They have helped me after school to move and arrange furniture along with thinking of creative ways to use the resources we already have. They are very excited to add more to our classroom!
