I work with toddlers ages 3-5 with special needs. My job is to provide early intervention so that my babies will be on level and in mainstream classes with their peers by kindergarten. My goal is to move them into the least restrictive environment.
My students are at varying levels academically and I've learned that they all have the ability to achieve success when they are fully engaged. My students learn through touching materials and manipulating objects. I have had great success in Math utilizing the Early Mathematics Folder Game Library. It is my hope that if our class is awarded the Early Language Folder Set, my students will approach the Language tasks with the same enthusiasm they have while completing math tasks. In addition to academic remediation, my kiddos need assistance with social skills, interpersonal skills, verbal expression and basic school readiness skills. Things like the Family & Five Senses Theme boxes will promote language development. I have also selected toys that will encourage cooperative play and sharing.
The materials I have selected promote academic growth and provide enough stimulation to keep my students engaged and eager to learn. Whatever contribution made will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for you consideration and or donation.
