My goal is to provide a classroom environment that allows my students to feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to learn. I would like to accomplish this by exposing my students to flexible seating.
Student voice is essential. Something as simple as allowing students to have a say in which part of the classroom they would like to be in or the type of seat they want to use can be enough to engage them, and let them know that I, the teacher, am not the only individual who is in charge of their learning.
Classroom furniture that are inviting and cater to students' sensory needs will allow them to not only be excited to grow as learners, but to take ownership of their learning as well.
