I aim to arm all of my students with the tools necessary to empower their learning.
These resources will give my students access to a calm, flexible environment where they can work effectively.
These materials will allow them to work in various spaces around the classroom, comfort them when they need it the most, and help to provide a safe environment for them at school.
Room dividers will help give students their own space in the classroom.
Students can use wobble chairs and bean bags as flexible seating options. Wobble chairs will help students use excess energy, giving them increased motivation and engagement. Bean bags will give my students a safe, cozy place to work in the classroom. Bean bags cradle the body, not only providing comfort, but also invoking calmness.
Students can use crash pads for sensory activities. Crash pad activities can help calm children and relieve anxiety. Because many of my students struggle with sensory and other health related factors, calming activities and tools are essential to my classroom.
Body socks are another way to provide calmness to children. They can also be used for developing motor planning, spatial, and body awareness.
