I would like to get tablets to supplement authentic literacy centers in the classroom. Literacy centers that include phonics, fluency, vocabulary, etc. are a holistic way to develop literacy in and out of text. So far we have sight word, word family, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency centers for the K-2 students. Tablets are an engaging tool that tap into a variety of learning styles and help ENL students to grow in all 4 language modalities. Tablets would be able to supplement these centers in particular, as well as enhance everyday ELA lessons and develop my students use of the English language.
