My students LOVE to read---when it is something they are interested in! I want to add to my small classroom library. Out with the old, torn books, and in with new, exciting and challenging books. Many are also accessible online, and noise cancelling headphones will help students concentrate on the story in front of them.
鈥淭he more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.鈥 鈥 Dr. Seuss
This quote sums it up nicely! Help low-income, high need students rise above their economic level! Reading stimulates the imagination, improves vocabulary, and can even help with critical thinking skills. I want to get my students engaged in new, interesting books. Many of my second graders are ready to take on chapter books! Even my lowest readers love to read when it's an interesting book like Dr. Seuss! Help my students be the Phoenix, rising from the ashes to become something new and beautiful.
