The ukuleles will be used with grades 3 through 6. I do not have any string instruments for students and this will be an amazing opportunity for the kids to gets a hands on experience. Students will be able to accompany themselves while singing folk songs and pop songs. Students will learn chords and chord structure, harmony and instrument care. The ukuleles will be used throughout the year within various lessons. Students will have a hands-on opportunity to create and perform music. We will learn several basic chords and then accompany ourselves. The ukuleles will mainly be used as a classroom instrument, but I will also explore using them for concerts for my elementary chorus.
