These materials will help my students to feel prepared when they come to class. This will lessen the amount of anxiety some of them feel when in an academic setting. Because of the decreased anxiety they will be able to perform better in class and retain more information. With this increased success in their academics they will continue to be more successful in other classes and on summative tests.
Students will use highlighters to highlight different sections of their notes to maximize their study time and make sure they are understanding the most important key concepts in class. They use scissors to cut out and create interactive models and glue sticks to glue in to their notebooks to have models of what their notes are talking about. The pencils and erasers are to be more effective note takers. This use of notebooks really engages students and helps them solidify the concepts being taught as well as keeps all their work in one place.
The notebooks that my students complete in my classroom are designed to help them become better note takers and are organized to help them effectively use their study time to cut out any waste of time and clutter.
