My students will just be entering kindergarten. For many new students it can be a scary experience. Their parents are leaving them with kids they don't know and an adult that has expectations of them. This project will help me "hook" the students and help to make this huge transition exciting and not scary for them. Starting the school year off right with plenty of learning manipulatives, a welcoming and exciting environment and a big heart is key to set the tone for the rest of the school year. These items will be used by students in the first few months of school. Learning can be fun! When kids learn through play, it isn't only enjoyable for them, but the concepts better stick with them. These items help students through play, working cooperatively together, solving problems, and a chance to explore learning in different ways. Each item coordinates with either ELA, math, STEM, letter, and language units we do in the first few months of school.
