Our sixth grade readers appreciate some of the best literature for their level. Award winning author Lauren Wolk's Beyond the Bright Sea is one of those unforgettable books that I am eager to share with our students. Set on an island in our own Massachusetts, the story inspires the main character's search for identity, compassion for others, and appreciation of family. We seek 25 copies of Beyond the Bright Sea to use in our reading instruction of 49 students. These books will be shared by two classes but will allow all students to be reading the same book and sharing the many lessons and insights from this wonderful book. These hard back copies of Beyond the Bright Sea will be used for years to come in our reading program.
