Since my students have a diagnosis of Autism, they do learn best through the use of manipulatives, and play dough is perfect for one of those experiences. The bright colors of the clay add to the appeal. Squeezing and pounding the play dough is a great way to strengthen their fingers, and help with the development of pre-writing skills.
The Learn the Alphabet and Learn to Count dough mats, are a fun way to form letters and develop counting skills. The easy grip dough rollers are another beneficial way for my students, especially the ones that avoid touching different textures, to explore the play dough.
These supplies would be a wonderful addition to my fun and busy classroom, and would be put to great use.
