A light table will provide my students with endless possibilities of learning academics, social/emotional and fine motor skills. It will also help develop focus, attention and use of senses. Their senses are the best and familiar way of learning. All academic areas from art to literacy to science will be targeted. We will be able to count, create shapes, play with light/shadows, explore sensory materials, mix colors, use puppets/ stories and engage in open-ended play all while building oral language! The light table will invite all hands, imagination, observations, explorations and purposeful play. Each student regardless of their need/ability will bring their interest, knowing, doing and exploring. A light table will provide all my students with the opportunity to succeed.
