My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and non-restrictive environment for our youngest students. Kindergartners need the ability to wiggle while they work and to make choices.
No one likes to sit at a table all day in a hard chair. Flexible seating gives students choices to move around the room and to wiggle while they work. Right now our classroom has traditional round tables and chairs.
I would like to get rid of those hard chairs and provide something more comfortable that allows movement. I also want students to be able to move around the room and have comfort and not have to sit on a hard floor. The wobble cushions, the scoop rockers, along with bean bags, and mats that I currently have in my room will allow students to work in a comfortable spot around the room and get out of their seats. The ball chairs and wobble chairs will help students who are engaged in activities at tables. One table will be lowered to the floor and will use the floor cushions to sit on. The stools will be used at my guided reading table to encourage movement and engagement. These products will allow me to open up my room and remove tables so we have more room to learn and play. We are currently tripping over each other with all of the furniture! Please help me make our learning environment a place all students want to come to learn!
