Using Nearpod in the classroom is an effective teaching tool that allows students to be engaged in the lesson and be able to participate. This engagement fosters creativity and allows the students to gather their ideas and collaborate with each other. I'm also able to give students immediate feedback through the program.
One of the many great features that Nearpod uses is their virtual field trips. Imagine students being able to explore the Taj Mahal, the Washington Monument, or the Great Wall of China all from their desk. This feature can immerse students into parts of the world that they never dreamed of exploring.
Nearpod also lets me personalize the lessons for my students and create lessons that enable them to work through at a comfortable pace for them. Whether I need to teach deficit skills that my students may struggle with, or pinpoint specific areas within the curriculum for students to practice, Nearpod allows me that flexibility to customize the lessons to fit their needs.
Lastly, Nearpod allows me to freely roam throughout my classroom, to be able to interact more with my students, while I teach and I don't have to be confined to the board at the front of the classroom or the computer at my desk. This teaching tool is an amazing asset for any teacher that wants to incorporate technology into their classroom.
