Hellstern Middle School Drama is needing help with classroom supplies. Our classroom is on our stage, and so our classroom isn't completely functional. We have a white board, chairs and a few tables. But my students really need supplies that will allow them to have a more hands on theatrical experience. Our productions are all student led, but there are just a few things that have to be done outside of school because we don't have the resources.
We need these resources at our school so we will be able to provide a complete theatrical experience inside the classroom. A lot of costumes have to be built outside of the classroom because we don't have a sewing machine. With this sewing machine, I will be able to teach my students how to properly build a costume from scratch.
We also have to borrow a lot of microphones from our high school (Har-Ber High School) for our musical productions. With these microphones, we will be able to set up and discuss sound inside the classroom instead of having to discuss it during rehearsal time. Lastly, our stage is so far away from the printers. If we ever need to print anything, we have to pause our classroom instruction to go to the printers and pick up the papers. If we have a printer on the stage, we will be completely independent from the pods in our school and we won't have time taken away from students' learning.
