Our classroom is in dire need. In September my students were crowded into one 2nd grade class with 39 students. I was hired in October to open the second class and split the group into two. Needless to say the second classroom was bare. It lacked resources such as books, large meeting rug and manipulatives. As a new teacher, I am eager to make our new room home and I have done a lot on my own. We need help and these children deserve a quality educational experience. I have a class of 18 students from West Pullman, which is an underserved and under privileged community on Chicago's South side. We love STEM and my students enjoy flexible seating. Our classroom is coming together but now we need a little bit of help.
