Every class period, I have a group of students with special needs that need additional supports in the classroom to help them stay focused on their class work. Our school has a block schedule which means students are seated in each period for two hours. This is especially challenging for my students who cannot control their hyperactivity and/or have other health related challenges that need them to stand while reading and writing. The bouncy bands and computer stand will give these particular students the opportunity to take a break and be able to stand so they can achieve academic success. Many times, the needs of high school students are overlooked, however children of all ages should have the same opportunities as others to achieve academic success.
