I'm not just new to the school setting, I'm also a new SLP in general- I just started my clinical fellowship year. I was left some materials but there are large gaps in decorations, motivators/games, books, and social thinking resources for my students with autism. Most of the materials I chose, I did so with at least two or three particular students in mind.
I want to make my classroom fun and safe for my students. They will engage in different activities from worksheets to games, in the meantime targeting their different goals, from articulation and language to conversation pragmatics. I want them to look forward to coming to speech. A child that is engaged while having fun experiences more lasting gains.
