My student are student's with special needs. We have approximately 15 kids in our class every day. Our school is located in the inner city of Chicago and our neighborhood faces gang violence and poverty on a daily basis. Many students come to school merely as a refuge from the city streets. We only have approximately 3 classroom books as of right now and they are desperate for more.
