My school has one-to-one technology, which means that each child in my classroom has a Chromebook to use all year. The school has not been purchasing headphones, unfortunately.
When we do center work that involves students using their computers, the sounds are loud and distracting. I end up asking students to turn down their volume, which means they struggle to hear the books being read to them and the lessons on other educational sites. Not having headphones has prevented me from having lessons or activities where the whole class would use their Chromebooks at the same time.
Having headphones would help students use their chromebooks in a more efficient and effective way without interfering with the learning of students who are working on other activities.
