The way the book WONDER encourages students to not judge a book by its cover is remarkable. I have seen this book turn students' lives around.
It is an impacting story that promotes KINDNESS. Kindness does matter in this ever changing world, and our students our the future. We need to teach them about being kind. What better way to do it than through a book that also teaches literature like "point of view" and "inferences".
It would mean the world to my students for each of them to have their own copy of Wonder. We are at a Title I, low income community. They rarely receive new materials. I think it's time that changes. I know for a fact I will read this book with my future students for years to come.
