With a class set of "The Lightning Thief" my students will be able to complete projects based on comprehension, vocabulary and their critical thinking skills.
Students will connect the story to the Social Studies curriculum since they are currently learning about the Ancient Greek Civilization. I plan to break them up into small groups. In the small groups students will take turns reading and have accountable talk based on the story. They will answer comprehension questions and summarize specific parts. Lastly, they will connect with the characters. Once the book has been completed each group will be assigned a different project which they will later present.
